Celery juice is all the rage! Celery contains phytochemicals that can help relax the tissues that make up the artery walls, which increases blood flow and lowers your blood pressure. The flavonoids found in celery have amazing anti-inflammatory properties and may be able to help prevent chronic diseases and lower oxidative stress. This smoothie gives you the benefits that celery juice has to offer, but also retains celery’s high fiber content for double the goodness. Plus, cucumbers and pineapples are delicious, low in calories and loaded with antioxidants, too. This recipe is TKM APPROVED!

INGREDIENTS: (Serves 2)

  • 2-3 stalks of cleaned and leafless organic celery., cut into small pieces

  • 1 medium (skin shaved) organic cucumber, cut into small pieces

  • 2 cups frozen organic pineapple chunks

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil

  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice

  • 1 cup filtered water

  • 1 cup ice blocks

PREP:

  1. Clean the celery stalks very well.

  2. Shave skin off of cleaned cucumber.

  3. Chop celery and cucumber into small pieces.

  4. Puree using your high-powered blender the pineapple chunks, cucumber pieces, and celery pieces with fresh basil, lime juice, water and ice blocks until smooth and creamy. Enjoy right away to reap the benefits!
